Spring Newsletter 2021

We are very pleased to have made it through 2020 and we give our thanks and appreciation to all of our staff and to the Methodist Church for enabling our sessions to continue from the end of the first lock down.

We now have 24 children on the register and are full on Monday and Wednesday – in part due to our reduced intake of 15 children per session this year (which will continue during lockdown and probably until the summer due to Covid regulations).

We have moved to 3 staff on all our sessions and our aim is to continue with that for the remainder of the year. This means that all of our children are well supported during the session and benefit from a close key worker relationship.

We hope to restart Popp and Play as soon as lockdown is over and our children are back at their schools, so watch out for an announcement on that soon.

We plan to hold our AGM in early July again this year – rather than in March as has been the case in previous years. This will enable committee members to swap over at the end of the academic year in order to start their new roles from September.

As a traditional ‘playgroup’ we are intended to be run by the parents who attend the setting. Currently none of our Chair, Treasurer or Membership Secretary have children at the setting, and while we do also have 3 parents involved we do really need more parent representation and views fed in. We meet for an hour and a half on Zoom once every half term, so if you feel that you might be able to join in and be a parent voice, we would love to hear from you and we can guarantee a warm welcome.
